One-Day I-75 Traffic Enforcement Blitz Yields 98 Citations

The I-75 Corridor Traffic Safety Project conducted a targeted enforcement blitz on April 20 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The traffic blitz coincided with the National initiative of “If You Feel Different You Drive Different.”

This traffic blitz resulted in 98 total citations.

The next traffic blitz will be conducted on Monday, May 24. 

VIOLATION AND NUMBER OF CHARGES: 

ARRESTS/DRUGS

Possession of marijuana: 1

Possession of drug paraphernalia: 1

Apprehend a fugitive from justice (warrant): 2

SPEEDING

Speeding: 27

Reckless Driving: 1

FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELT

Failure to wear a seat belt: 11

DISTRACTED DRIVING/TEXTING/CARLESS

Texting while operating a vehicle: 2

OTHER CITATIONS

Failure to Give Right-Of_Way to Stopped Emergency Vehicle: 1

Theft of Identity: 1

Operating a vehicle without insurance: 2

Failure to produce insurance card: 12

Operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license: 3

Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license: 4

Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license in possession: 2

Operating a vehicle with an expired driver’s license: 3

No/Expired registration: 14

Failure to notify the Department of Transportation: 2
