Campbell Middle Student Wins National Bus Safety Poster Contest
Madisyn Kelley, an 8th-grade student at Campbell County Middle School in Alexandria, is the first place winner in the 6-8 grade division in the 2017 National School Bus Safety Poster Contest.
Her artwork depicts the theme, “My Driver – My Safety Hero,” which also will be the theme of next year’s National School Bus Safety Week, Oct. 15-19, 2018.
The National School Bus Safety Poster Contest is sponsored by the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT).
Students in more than 40 states participate in local and state-level competitions to select artwork that depicts school bus safety-related themes and encourage and promote school bus safety. That work is then submitted for the national competition.
The 2018 contest, which will be used to promote school bus safety the following year, runs until May 1, 2018, and is based on the theme “My School Bus, the Safest Form of Student Transportation.” The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Pupil Transportation Section, will be accepting first place district-winning posters for state competition that comply with the National School Bus Safety Poster Contest Rules.
You can find the 2018 Poster Contest Rules at the Kentucky Department of Education website.
