Kenton County Honors Rising Country Music Star, Taylor Mill Native
Her debut single "Every Little Thing" made it to the top 5 of the Billboard country music chart and her second single is currently on the rise.
Taylor Mill native Carly Pearce returned to town last week, playing a sold-out show at Bogart's in Cincinnati.
The Kenton County Fiscal Court named December 13 in her honor.
Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke presented Pearce with the proclamation declaring December 13 to be "Carly Pearce Day" in the county.
Pearce, 27, began touring with a bluegrass band at age 11. She left school at 16 and moved to Pigeon Forge, Tn., to perform at Dollywood.
People magazine described Pearce as "the new voice of country" in its annual "Ones to Watch" issue.
