Winter Carnival Returns to Bellevue on Saturday
Winter Carnival IN VUE returns for the fourth year to Fairfield Avenue in Bellevue on Saturday.
The free event features family-friendly fun, entertainment, and activities.
The carnival kicks off at 11 a.m. with a Princess and Superhero Parade led by Fairy Godmother and departing from Siam Orchid at 511 Fairfield Avenue (Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite princess or superhero character.).
The roving Pickled Brothers perform feats of fire-eating and sword swallowing. Presto Paul the magician executes tableside magic at Avenue restaurants. A balloon twister creates colorful inflated masterpieces. Star Wars characters will be roaming the Avenue for photo ops. Face painters and a few surprises will also add to the fun.
At Le Sorelle Boutique, enter a drawing to win a $50 gift basket. Visit the giant frog at Splendid Things and pick a slip for a prize. Stop by Darkness Brewing; for a giveaway. Other giveaways are planned and visitors may enter drawings at participating Fairfield Avenue merchants.
Additionally, there will be food specials, like milkshakes and malts on sale at Schneider’s Sweet Shop, street pretzels and knotty dogs from The Pretzel Place, and Superhero cookies at Mama C’s Buttercream and Sprinkles. S. Cohen Insurance is offering free hot chocolate and Fresh Thyme will be onsite passing out free apples. Visitors can play carnival games, including Swedish Fish Bowl at Witt’s End Candy Emporium and a Taffy Pull at the Cozy Cottage. Fun and activities are planned at various shops along Fairfield Avenue.
Winter Carnival IN VUE is free and open to the public. The event takes place – indoors and out – from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 17. (Note: Rain date is Saturday, March 10.)
