State Police Identify Erlanger Officers Involved in Shooting Suspect
The Erlanger Police officers involved in last week's shooting of a suspect have been identified.
Kentucky State Police said that Sergeant Chad Girdler and Patrolman Greg Pohlman were the two officers. KSP is handling the investigation.
Officers responded to Peecox Bar & Grill on Donaldson Road last Wednesday night as they were notified that a man with an outstanding warrant was there.
Dexter Helton, 40, was located inside but ran through a back door and when officers followed, investigators say he pulled a gun. Officers fired at him and Helton ended up at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition.
KSP said Monday that Helton is now in medically stable condition but is still in the hospital.
