Free Nature Hike Event Announced at Morning View Heritage Area
The Kenton County office of Parks and Recreation are encouraging citizens to enjoy the great outdoors with a hike at the Morning View Heritage Area on Saturday, July 28 from 9am to 12pm. Hikers will see everything from wildflowers to trees and mussels to wetlands while they explore the natural surroundings of this property.
Two guided hikes are scheduled; the first starting at 9:30 ending at 10:15am, while the second will start at 10:30 and last until 11:15am. The approximately one-mile mostly-forested trail is expected to be muddy, wet, and rocky in places, so sturdy closed-toe shoes with good treads, long sleeves and pants and a walking stick are recommended. Hikers are asked to bring their own liquids and snacks, but will be provided with a picnic lunch and can visit information booths staffed by local outdoor and nature-oriented organizations.
All ages are welcome, but anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees will be asked to sign a waiver prior to hiking. No dogs are allowed in the preserve.
Call Rhonda at (859) 525-PLAY (7529) to register for this free event. Please note: Rain Cancels. Program is co-sponsored by the Kenton County Conservation District.
The Morning View Heritage Area is located at Morning View Heritage Area: 15168 Decoursey Pike, Morning View 41063.
