Morning View Heritage Area is Hosting a Free Star-Gazing Session with Overnight Tent-Camping Option
Kenton County Parks & Recreation (KCP&R), Kenton County Conservation District, and the NKU Haile Planetarium are hosting a free star gazing event that is open to the public on Saturday, September 15 at the Morning View Heritage Area. The star gazing will begin at 7 pm, but those wishing to camp are invited to pitch tents starting at 5 pm.
The NKU Haile Planetarium will provide telescopes and expertise in the field of astronomy. Staff members will be available to describe observations, answer questions, and help the public understand all things astronomy. Those in attendance are also welcome to bring personal telescopes and binoculars.
Additionally, overnight tent camping options will be available. Those wishing to camp overnight are asked to pitch tents in designated areas starting on Saturday at 5 pm and break camp down on Sunday by 10 am. Although food will not be provided, portable toilets will be available.
The Morning View Heritage Area is located at 15168 Decoursey Pike, Morning View 41063.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Call Rhonda Ritzi from KCP&R at 859-525-PLAY (7529). This event is free, but KCP&R will be collecting donations of non-perishable food and personal care items for Be Concerned - a Northern Kentucky based food pantry.
