Creation Museum Fires Back at "Science Guy"
Bill Nye the Science Guy's recent video that criticized the idea of "creationism" has been met with a response by the leader of the Boone County-based Creation Museum. On his YouTube page, Nye wrote, "Evolution is the fundamental idea in all of life science, in all of biology. ...if grownups want to deny evolution and live in your world that's completely inconsistent with everything we observe in the universe, that's fine, but don't make your kids do it because we need them." Ken Ham, the leader of the organization Answers in Genesis which created the Creation Museum and has plans to create a theme park in Grant County dedicated to Noah's Ark, offered a rebuttal: "A recent tactic by evolutionists in their battle against creationists, one that is especially used by Richard Dawkins, is to employ an ad hominem argument—that creationists are committing a form of “child abuse” when they teach creation to children. Well, that phenomenon continues, this time with Bill Nye."
As of Sunday, Nye's video had been viewed more than 3.4 million times while the Creation Museum's rebuttal had been seen 61,000 times. To read Ken Ham's full statement and see the Creation Museum's video, click here.
