Taylor Mill Notes: Commission Sworn In, New Administrative Assistant Hired

Notes from the Taylor Mill City Commission meeting:
  • --Commissioner Roger Reis was reappointed to be the Taylor Mill representative of the Planning and Development Services Council, with Commissioner Dan Murray as his alternate. The post is a one-year term.

  • --Stan Porter will be on the Kenton County Planning Commission for four more years after being reappointed as the Taylor Mill representative.

  • --The city administrative assistant job will be filled by Gena Forsyth, former event director for Linnenmann Funeral Home. She will begin the job this week.

“Now we finally get back to a full administrative staff,” said Mayor Daniel Bell. “We've been short for several months, so we're happy to be back at full staff.”

  • --There was a materials delay that has held up the necessary improvements to a maintenance garage owned by the city. The garage was damaged from salt decay from an adjacent barn and compromised some concrete. City Administrator said the job should begin by Monday at the latest.

  • --The last Fire Department Dance of the year will take place on December 19 at the fire house at 7pm. Admission is five dollars.

  • --The Taylor Mill Seniors Group raised $555 for the Shop With a Cop Program which allows kids to shop for toys with police officers over the holidays.

  • --All four existing commissioners were sworn in for their next term after being reelected.
