Covington Man Faces 20 Child Porn Charges
A Covington man is behind bars and will be arraigned Friday after being arrested on child pornography charges.
Richard Ray Washington, 31, was arrested Thursday afternoon in his home by investigators from Attorney General Jack Conway's Cybercrimes Unit. A search warrant was executed, prompted by an investigation that began in March.
Investigators checked out computers and equipment allegedly or possibly used to distribute images and videos of exploited children.
Washington now faces 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. The crimes are Class D felonies, each punishable by one to five years in prison.
Kenton County Attorney Stace Tapke's office is prosecuting the case.
